Management Team

Adam Dakin, Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Adam has over 20 years of experience with early stage and venture-backed medical device companies. From 1998-2004, Mr. Dakin served as the President & CEO of X-SITE Medical, a venture-backed cardiovascular device company which was successfully acquired by Datascope in 2004. Adam previously served in senior management roles for several venture-backed device companies including Cardiovascular Imaging Systems (Boston Scientific), Birtcher Medical (Conmed), and Moberg Medical. He started his device career as an orthopedic implant sales representative for Kirschner Medical. Adam holds a BS degree in economics from the Wharton School along with an MBA in finance and marketing from The Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA.

Todd Polk, Vice President, Regulatory Affairs & Quality Assurance

Todd has over 30 years of executive level regulatory, quality assurance, and research and development experience covering a wide array of medical technology. Todd has served as VP, Regulatory Affairs/QA for Replication Medical, X-SITE Medical, Circon, and Cabot Medical. He has been responsible for Premarket Notification 510(k) approvals for over 100 products and has managed submissions for three successful PMA Applications. He holds a BS degree is electrical engineering from Drexel University.

Michael Paris, Director, Product Development

Mike has over 15 years of product development and manufacturing experience in the medical device industry. Mike has managed numerous Class I, II, and III development programs for cardiovascular and orthopedic products. Previously, he served in senior project management positions at Orthovita and was responsible for the development of disposable and reusable delivery systems/instruments utilizing innovative biomaterials. Prior to Orthovita, he had developed disposable products for Rex Medical, Kensey Nash, and Martech Medical. Mike holds a BS degree in mechanical engineering from Temple University.

Deborah Brouwer, RN, CNN, Director, Clinical Operations

Debbie has over 25 years of experience in nephrology and clinical operations.  She served as the Director of Clinical Affairs for two venture-backed medical device companies including Vasca and Renal Solutions Inc.  Her experience includes management of clinical trials required for regualotry approvals and development of new renal replacement therapies. Debbie is recognized as a leader in the area of hemodialysis vascular access.  She served on the KDOQI Vascular Access Guideline Work Group in 1997, 2000 and 2006.  She also served on the Fistula First Breakthrough Initiative Work Groups.  She was recognized by the American Nephrology Nurses’ Association as the Nephrology Nurse Educator of the year in 2007 for her volunteer efforts to teach proper vascular access care and cannulation.  She frequently lectures at national and international conferences on vascular access related topics and has published extensively on the topic of vascular access.  Debbie holds an RN degree from the Western Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing.
